Saturday Madness

Today is going to be one of those fly by days! We have all sorts of appointments and parties to attend today, so last night I used up some of our berries for another Buttermilk Cake, this time with some raspberries, but a whole lot of blueberry goodness, as well! I skipped the decorating sugar this time and boy did I hear about it. Apparently, that was MrP's favorite part. Well, too bad for him. Since it's going to be a busy week before heading to Kelowna and we won't get in as much gym time as we would in a usual week, he'll have to deal with lack of sugar!

I did, however, modify the recipe slightly and instead of all vanilla, I used a smidge of vanilla and substituted the rest for my favorite extract - almond! It made the cake even more delish for me (but I think it also took away a little of the buttermilk flavor, overwhelming with yummy almond). Oh well...you win some, you lose some. I love them both!

Also pulled together a second batch of Margarita Cupcakes! Today I'll have to frost them before taking them to Fiesta, our friend's annual mexican themed party.

Finally, when I finished up in the kitchen, I aimed to head to bed, but not before being assaulted my Mysytcka, our feline companion who was ready to climb my leg to get some attention. Thankfully, she's a little on the chubby side, so she usually doesn't get past my knee!

Hoping to get a card or two made before heading out for the day. In the meantime, this is one I completed a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away for Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #3.

Stamps: Cause for Celebration
Paper: Sahara Sand, Purely Pomegranate, Blue Bayou, Whisper White
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Blue Bayou
Accessories: Cloud Scissors

Thanks for checking out the rubbish!
