Say It Loud : Sisterhood Challenge

Wow! I just realized that I didn't actually post this...and I am the one hosting this challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters. Make a card or project using only a sentiment, no images or pictures. At first, I thought this wasn't going to be too hard because I had great sentiments that I absolutely adore. Turns out, using NO other images or pictures was tough. I'd have a great background in my head, then realize that was stamping images and redouble my efforts. I guess even with that in mind, I cheated a bit because I had two sentiments.

What do you think?

Flower Power : Sisterhood Challenge

This time around, the challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters happens to be Flower Power - use at least one flower on your creation. Well, I've used a few...one that's dimensional and more of the same that aren't, plus a wrapped bundle of beauties from the Verve One Person set.

I went with one of my mom's favorite color combinations...which I think I use for pretty well every card I make for her. The green this time was mellow moss (it's often certainly celery), plus perfect plum, which is her favorite color.

The sketch was inspired by the Mojo Monday 292 sketch, which I think is pretty obvious. LOL

Let's see your flower-filled creations :)
Head over to The Sisterhood of Crafters & share your floral beauties!

Happy Easter : Sisterhood Challenge

Well this is waaaaay late now, but this was my Easter creation for The Sisterhood of Crafters' Spring and Easter Challenge.
The image was a QKR Stampede called Happy Duckling. Isn't it the cutest?!

Thanks for stopping by!

Anything Goes : Sisterhood Challenge

The challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters this week is.....anything goes! Should make for a fun assortment of creations for our viewing pleasure.

For me, I needed a card for one of the guys at my office who was my first trainee to break out (he's now able to work by himself on job sites). I was like a proud parent that day! This was the card I created for him...pretty clean and simple with just a ribbon and some glitter along the edges of the medium stars.

Not sure what has happened to my brain lately, as I keep forgetting to actually post my pics, despite having completed them quite a while ago.

Anyways, the challenge is up until Sunday, so head over to The Sisterhood of Crafters for some Anything Goes fun :)

Furry Friends : Sisterhood Challenge

So I just discovered my past Sisterhood challenge didn't post. Guess I'll edit that and post tomorrow. In the meantime, here's the latest challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters - a creation with an animal on it! I chose to use a couple of adorable images that always inspire me to color (which I really need to practice).

Coincidentally, both are for friends/family who have recently lost pets, hence the "hang in there" sentiment, which I thought worked for the monkey and the heavy-headed fuzzball donkey.

The sketch I used for the donkey card was this week's Mojo Monday 288 Sketch in a combination of Basic Grey, Bashful Blue and Whisper White.

This time, I used Splitcoast Sketch Challenge 430 and Color Challenge 420, though I didn't have Pool Party, so I went with something I did have.

Head over to the Sisterhood to show us your Furry Friends :)

I have just under three more weeks until my next half marathon and I am pumped! I've also been doing some snowboarding lately and things have been coming together nicely. MrP says the change from last year to this year is remarkable and it makes him almost want to try snowboarding since I make it look seamless. I think he's blowing smoke :)

Hope all is well with everyone!

Green with Envy : Sisterhood Challenge

I'm hosting today's challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters...and it's a favorite. Use green as the main color. Wait....use my favorite color as the basis of a card?! Done and done!

I actually have always been wanting to try the negative die technique, so I gave it a whirl for this CAS creation. I think it will work for a birthday card for a friend :)

Training for my next half is coming along nicely (happy to report I've been doing the hill training that I'm hoping will improve this race over last year's results). Looks like our weather is dropping down to some cooler stuff for the next few days, but I'm hoping for some nice white stuff at the little local ski hill so I can enjoy myself on Friday night!

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check out the rest of the Sister's creations!

Happy Birthday : Sisterhood Challenge

For the Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge this time around, we had birthday creations. I know I have my mom's birthday next month, so I decided to get a head start.

Using her favorite color as a base (purple), I went with some of this great Basic Grey Wisteria paper that I had yet to cut up and a layout from SCS. Other than my sponge being apparently a little grubby (which resulted in more of a peachy color than the light purple), I was happy with how this CAS creation turned out. I hope she likes it, too.

The sentiment stamps are both Verve, of course :)

Over the weekend, we headed down to Calgary for a sweet wine tasting at a fabulous wine shop (Bin 905) with some friends, then Saturday it was out to Lake Louise for some time on the skis/snowboards. What a blast! I definitely notice a difference in my ability from when I started last year.

Anyways, head over to The Sisterhood of Crafters to show us your Birthday crafts!
