Some Play Date Mojo

I was desperately needing a card to ship off to my friend in Ontario (it's going to be late now, but at least she'll know I was thinking of her) so I grabbed the Mojo 176 sketch for inspiration and a visit to my friend Marisa, my color challenge superstar friend, and I discovered it was the last day of the Play Date Cafe Challenge 66 (PDCC66) so I was set!

This was my first attempt at a round card and I'll know for next time - it's impossible to take pictures when you have the nubs of the scallops uneven for ideal photo taking, but I'm very happy with how it turned out. I used some liquid pearls on the scallops and some patterned paper from an old TE Key Ingredients kit - it says it's Basic Grey Black & White paper - the pattern was perfect for what I wanted.

Excuse the frightening hand and the already chipped manicure...I'm seriously too rough on my hands apparently. I had a great time in SK with the family despite -36 weather and I'm officially signed up for my half marathon clinic as of Friday. I noticed today, though, that the Okanagan half is now open for registration.....EEEKS! Maybe a little birthday gift from family to get myself signed up in April for the October run?!
In the meantime, I'm having some crafting fun!

  4. Absolutely LOVE this card, Tanis!! You rocked the colours, that DP is fabulous, and you slam dunked your first circle card!! Great idea to use the buttons for the wavy part. I finished my Mojo card today after MUCH blood, sweat and tears today and don't really like it :( Oh well, at least I tried it instead of running away from it.

Glad to hear you had a good time in SK despite the cold! Brrrr - too cold for this whoosey West Coaster LOL!

I hear you re: being rough on your hands - I'm sure I'm even worse than you are! Mine only lasted two days once.

Well done on signing up!! SO proud of you for doing that and living vicariously through you :) Have a great week and hope the shoveling is to a minimum (((hugs)))

  6. So sorry I didn't get here yesterday to see this awesomeness! Love that you used buttons and the color is fantastic...That little detail of the dots on each scallop is perfect too :) Way to go with getting set for the marathon...You rock. We are not far behind you in the temperature department here...Terrible ice storm last night, but I'm happy we didn't lose power. Knocking on wood now...
