An award for being lazy!?!

Well I'm not even sure why my wonderful friend Maureen nominated me since I've pretty much been in absentia the last week, recharging my batteries on the creative level (or at least that's what I keep hoping - until my PTI order arrives!) but I really do appreciate it!

And now, time to adjust my strategy in dealing with The Christmas Light Miser (also known as The Lawn Miser, most commonly known as MrP). That guy is so anti-Christmas lights, it's actually comical. When we moved into our house four years ago, I suggested putting up Christmas lights for the holidays. That was about the time I learned that he thinks it's a waste of money to put up lights that only other people will see.

Now don't get me wrong, the practical side of me says "That makes sense" but the kid in me really wants Christmas lights! I'm sure once I saw what the bill was after a month of additional house-bling, I'd be all for turning them off, but the point is...well I have no point. I just like looking at how people decorate the outside of their homes and think I'd like to decorate ours. I say "I" but really, I wouldn't be getting up on a ladder, so maybe I should just stop whining =)

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

  2. Thank you so much for the award Tanis!

I agree. I keep hoping one of these years I can convince Dan to put them up. He says the same thing as MrP. Can you believe that someone even has lights up down the street and its not even Thanksgiving yet! One year I went all out on Christmas lights. There wasn't a part of my outside that didn't have lights. It even made the front page of my local paper. Lets say I quit when our PGandE bill went from 150.00 to 550.00 in one month. But it was BEAUTIFUL!

  5. Fun to get to know a bit more about you :D Glad you had a week off to just relax and enjoy some extra time and less stress after your decision last week.

I'm with you re: the lights. Love them and I am the one that puts them up at our house LOL! I got LED lights so no excuses about the cost - they are incredibly cheap to have on versus the old type so your bill isn't outrageous (unless you put thousands up)!!! So....MrP is running out of reasons not to put them up LOL!! Costco sells them and Canadian Tire always has a great selection. Just don't tell MrP where you got the info.... :D Hope you get to enjoy some outdoor lighting this Christmas!!
