VLV

On Friday, Amber posted another awesome Viva la Verve June 2010 Challenge. I thought I could use the colors for a grad card for my cousin who graduates high school in two weeks. If you look closely, you can see the embossing of the white background paper to look like the walls of the inspiration photo (inspired to try it from Marissa's card here)

Stamps: Verve Great Expectations, Starring You
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Night of Navy, Scarlett Jewel
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Gold Brads, Scarlett Jewel Ribbon, Scor-Pal, Swiss Dots EF, Ticket Corner Punch, Nestabilities

This was the awesome inspiration pic I used to get me going =)

The weekend was a wet one here with rain and even snow, but that didn't stop the City Chase challenge participants, so as a volunteer, I couldn't quit either on Saturday. As my 'volunteerism reward', I went with some friends to see Sex and the City 2, which was alright...nothing fabulous. Even the most hardcore SJP lover in our group had to admit it was more than a little silly in parts.

Sadly, no outdoor biking this weekend so let's hope for MUCH better weather next week!

  1. Tanny, this is brilliant! Love how you created the wood paneling on the card!!! Awesome graduation card :)
Sorry about the weather - winter can't just end, now can it? :) It's gotta get one last word in...

  2. Oh, this room is so fun and I love the stars and colours on your card :) I've been meaning to get that Great Expectations set...it has so many wonderful sentiments like this one and the one you put on my birthday card :)

I AM a SATC hard core fan and yes, I admit, the movie(s) are not the same. I was so disappointed in the first one and I think the second will be the same...just telling from the trailers. They are more "goofy" than the series was. That's the big screen for ya...but I'll still go and see it (Aidan still looks hot!! LOL)

  3. I love this card and you did such a great job with regards to taking elements from the inspiration photo!
I will be going to see Eclipse (the next Twilight movie) next month. I'm not a fan, but my friend is and the hubby refuses to go with her. It's not my thing either, but time with friends can make any crummy movie experience fun :)
