What a week!

Last week, I finally realized just how far behind I was in my online accounting class and this week, work has me in Calgary for two days (thank goodness we just got a laptop at the end of December that's mostly mine). Once I finish getting our new girl through her orientation course here, it's back to Leduc for two days of "Tanis-training" (cross your fingers - for her and me!), then she's back to Fort Nelson and I'm off to Saskatoon for my Aunt's birthday. In all this, I still have to get to my goal of at least three hours of online course time each day in hopes of possibly ever catching up.

So what I'm saying is be patient with me and my lack of blog visiting. I'll be trying to sneak some in during her breaks =)

And since my latest Verve order arrived, I'm hoping I may even have time to squeak out a card this week!

TE Birthday Bear

Well now that I mentioned it, I don't even want to show you my pathetic attempt at coloring. LOL! Keep in mind, I have a total of six colors - two blues (both shown here), two browns, a green and one other color that's apparently skipped my mind (purple?!)

Either way, I hope my nephew likes it. (He's five - as if he cares - it's the game Auntie got him that he'll actually want!) I used Marissa's favorite, Swiss Dots, as a simple addition to the white background, but apparently I can't take great pictures like hers that show the darn texture. LOL
I used an old Weekend Sketch Challenge (100) for the layout and some of my paper from the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit for December.

Last night, I had the best ride on Zeus, the little freight train of a horse I've been riding in my lessons. By far, the best lesson we've had together. All of the horses were a little 'off' last night, but I'll take his off any day! I was so happy with him, I couldn't stop smiling. Now watch us be a train wreck next week =) Oh well - I know he has some brains in him, so now I know what to strive for.

Key Ingredients Come Together

Along with my newest TE stamps, of course, for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 51! Discover Your Wings is one of newest TE Giving Tree sets - $7 from each set sold goes to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep and once again, I love what Nancy has created for this Whimsical Wishes set (which apparently are some of my faves, since looking back, every set I have from TE is from this line.

I used supplies from my new Key Ingredients set from December 2009 and the sentiment is from another stamp set.

This card is being sent to my cousin, who's celebrating a birthday on Thursday and while I'm pretty sure this card will be late, at least I finally got around to sending it!  =)

It's been a busy month and I can't wait for another weekend to regain some semblance of order. Next Sunday, though, I fly out to Calgary for a couple of nights and then the following weekend I'll be celebrating with my aunt in Saskatoon. This sure is going to fly by!

Stop by tomorrow for the first online example of my sad looking Copic coloring! LOL
I just realized I have yet to show anything from my six markers that I won quite a while back. Once you see it - you'll know why! HAHA! Have a fabulous Monday!

Viva La New Year!

What a cool new twist...Viva La Verve - At Home with Verve! For 2010, Amber's going with a fun idea - and January's starting with Foyers and Entryways. I think if you check out her inspiration pics you can tell which one I used =)

I pulled out my Swiss Dots folder which is sorely underused, partly due to my lack of crafting lately and I felt inspired to use it thanks to Marisa, who's always got great things going on with hers. You can't see the white very well, but it's 'dotted' up, too. When I was finished, it still felt lacking, so I used my Sakura gel pen & colored on each of the dots. Verve's Circular Sayings stamp got a little inky, too! YAY! This is going to be my aunt's birthday card when I fly out to Saskatoon for my annual weekend trip at the end of the month.
