Can you believe it?

1. It's almost December
2. Christmas is just around the corner
3. It's my last Scrap N Stamp Guest Design team card
4. I'm posting a card!

LOL! Okay - so I'm exaggerating a little...but I'm pretty embarassed after I totally flaked last Friday on Shellie and completely forgot to submit a card. Yes - I think some time off is much needed. Speaking of time off - I'm off today for a bit of a long weekend. Yahoodles! I'm thinking some time with a good book, review some PW cookbook recipes, tv watching and maybe some baking while I wait for the ol' stove repairman.

You should check out the sketch and give it a try for yourself =) Scrap N Stamp

More Wassail...and Filigree!

Over at Scrap N Stamp, there's another sketch challenge today! My card used another image from that wonderful Inkadinkado set that I used for my snowman card last week and another sheet of Wassail paper (one page, both sides used). I used some Galaxy Gold pigment ink and sponged it directly from the dew drop onto my nestie-cut label. A few clear Peggy's Pretties and I was done. Easy peasy!

Today I've got lunch plans with my bestie =) Yay!
(And gym plans with my fave gorilla...not so yay according to him)

Happy Friday everyone!

SNS Sketch features Filigree

This is my card for the Sketch challenge over at Scrap N Stamp...go give it a try! This sweet snowman is the Filigree Snowman by Inkadinkado and I think he's just adorable. Love those filigree stamps, though =)

Hope your Friday is Fabulous...because it's the weekend. And in my books, a weekend that includes friends, fine food and fantastic wine is a great one to be celebrated!

Scrap N Stamp Sketches

For some reason, my Tuesday post didn't work....so I'll post it today while I get my bearings from our vacation!

Here's a couple of the cards I've created for Scrap 'N Stamp, a Canadian online company that I do some sketch challenges for. These were the last two Fridays' challenges.

We had such a great time in Banff! Supper Monday night at Saltlik was great as usual and our stay at Brewster's Mountain Lodge was lots of fun...I rocked a bubble bath Monday night that pretty much exploded in bubbles, almost drowning me! Good times. I'm looking forward to my riding lesson tonight - and my noon massage - travel for four hours just doesn't agree with me. Oh well. We're planning on heading back for Christmas, so hopefully we can actually try skiing or snowboarding then....

Have a great Wednesday, my friends!

Bellarific Friday Again!!

Over at the Stamping Bella blog, Karen Motzabella challenged everyone with this sketch. I wanted to make a card in honor of a friend that I need to catch up with soon for some drinks from our not so local coffee shop...or at a local pub...I'm not picky! =)

Stamps: Javabellas

Paper: White, River Rock, Brocade Blue, Tangerine Tango, Watercolor
Ink: Staz-On
Accessories: Nestabilities, Silver Half Pearls, Watercolor Brush & Markers

Over at Scrap N Stamp, it's another Friday challenge sketch - check it out! Their Glitter Party is still going on, too, so be sure to go to their Studio K blog to see all the bling!

This was my card for this week's sketch =) Thanks for dropping by - hope you have a fabulous Friday! It's my Friday off, so here's hoping I can make the most of it and still relax. Oh yeah - and Chelsey - have a blast in Vegas, buddy!

Happy Bellarific Friday!!

Yep! It's that time of the week again - my favorite day!! I think I'll celebrate with some wine. Check out what the talented ladies have done with the sketch here.

Actually, tonight we're going out with friends to celebrate their last weekend of their 'singleness' before their wedding next weekend. I'm sure it'll be fun. Last night, I was a productive-roo for running errands, so I put this card together when I got home. Not sure I love it, but it's got Winobella...and I gotta love her =)

Check out Scrap N Stamp for their third sketch challenge of the month!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday, Shauna - on Bellarific Friday

Stamps: Barbella
Paper: White, Pixie Pink, Basic Gray, Going Gray
Ink: Pixie Pink, Memento Black, Going Gray, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Nestabilities, Window Word Punch, Happy Birthday CB Embossing Folder, White Mini Brads

I know she reads my blog on a fairly regular basis, and this card isn't a surprise, as she received it early since I'm off to Spruce Meadows for the Masters today, but I did want to remind you to head over to Bloggabella, the blog for Stamping Bella, and check out the other creations with this week's sketch. You'll find that I didn't quite do exactly as was shown (flipped my oval), but the bellas just work better with the other direction.
For another sketch challenge, check out Scrap N Stamp this week, which features another great bunch of creations, including one by yours truly with love =)

Scrap 'N Stamp Sketch Challenge

Did you see my creation over at Scrap 'N Stamp on Friday? Yep - I'm a sketch challenge designer for their Friday sketches. If you head over to their blog and give the sketch a try for a chance to win this month's fabulous prize - a Just Rite stamper set with a value of $18.49.
The bonus for us Canadians - Scrap 'N Stamp is Canadian, too.

This card used Bazzil Cardstock, BG Wisteria collection paper & elements, Peggy’s Pretties, BG Wisteria Brad, all of which can be purchased through their site.

I also created this card for friends of ours who've just bought their first place, which is always exciting!
Stamps: surprisabella with hat
Paper: White, Blue Bayou, Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava, Summer Picnic DSP
Ink: Versamark Black, Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: Nestabilities, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Star Punch, Silver Brad

The sketch is last week's Sketch for You to Try from Jen and I'm so happy I gave this a try, despite my initial hesitation at the scary challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing what she comes up with this today!

Rockin' Out on Friday!

My ears are still ringing a little, but let me tell ya - great show last night! First, Canadian boys Bedouin Soundclash rocked about a half dozen songs, including St. Andrews while I was grabbing a nice & spicy caesar from the gougers (aka bartender) and closing with When The Night Feels My Song". Jay has a pretty darn amazing voice that I enjoyed listening to in the live setting.

After a little revision to the stage, Paramore took the stage and their first visit to Edmonton will likely not be their last. Those Tennessee kids got a really warm welcome and even with the all too common occurance of voices being drowned out by instruments at Rexall, the crowd showed Hayley and the boys the love. She's quite a performer and they entire group was great to watch. At one point near the end of their set, Hayley said "What a crazy & amazing welcome for our first time here - I think we have four people to thank for that...do y'all know who I mean?!" And people went nuts.

photo by my friend Gina, who saw them in Calgary on Friday night
They knew! Gwen, Tony, Tom & Adrian. No Doubt! In a futuristic stage setting, they began with Spiderwebs, followed by Hella Good and it just kept going! When we left the concert, I felt like hitting the gym for the next 7 hours until I started work in hopes of one day rockin' the six pack that Gwen possesses. WOW! Almost 40, two kids and the woman has the body that any 17 year old gymnast would be envious of. At one point, she was challenged to a pushup match by a fan and matched him on 20 smokin' pushups before hopping up & hugging. If I bounced around and exerted that much energy for an hour before I had a pushup challenge, I can tell you where I'd be telling that person to go.... =)

Anyways, it was a great night and I'm so grateful to MrP for getting us fantastic seats and being so thoughtful to get the tickets in the first place!

Before I fall asleep (yes, I'm working today, but just barely!) I wanted to share a couple of cards with you. For whatever reason, I wasn't sure if I was able to since they're part of my submission for the Scrap 'n Stamp Guest Design Team call...but I figure they already have the email and I've got my fingers crossed =)

Scrap 'n Stamp is a Canadian online store, based out of Aldergrove, British Columbia. They've got a huge selection of products, including my favorites - Nestabilities!

I found out about their Guest DT call on Splitcoast and then checked out their blog for the details. If you're in Canada and interested, be sure to check it out. It closes on July 31st. The submission asks for the inclusion of four projects, as well as the designer's interpretation of the following sketch:

For whatever reason, I couldn't get the idea of the butterfly out of my head, but I only own a couple of butterflies (despite my adoration for all of the butterfly stamps out there....I really can't believe I don't have a whole pile of them!) I inked up my Flight of the Butterfly and used a color combo that I really loved when making a card for my Mom's birthday last year, Sahara Sand and Elegant Eggplant (although looking at the photo, you'd think it was black!). I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the flower print on the butterfly and I love the result in real life (in photo, it's not nearly as pretty - but I'm obviously biased!)

Stamps: Thank You Kindly
Paper: Sahara Sand, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Nestabilities, Scallop Blade on Cutter, Slot Punch (I think that's what it's called....bear with me!)

I also included a card that was the result of a sketch that I'd found on their website earlier in the week. It uses some Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White. I used Nesties to create the squares and bridal confetti flowers, colored with markers, to create my fave shimmery flowers, along with their foliage. Silver brads gave them centres and another favorite sentiment, the swirly Thanks from Thank You Kindly was cut out with a Nestie, mounted on another and popped up with a dimensional.

Stamps: Thank You Kindly
Paper: Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Always Artichoke DSP
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Nestabilities, Paper Flowers, Silver Brads

Thanks for stopping by today! It's going to be a BUSY weekend, but I can't wait for Sunday night after my 10K run will be finished, all the madness that is Saturday will be over (despite the fun factor, I always love when I can just chill out) and I'll be able to enjoy some fine dining at Vons with friends because it's Forkfest, baby! A bunch of independent restaurants feature $20 and $35 multi-course menus to give an affordable opportunity to try out some of the best Edmonton has to offer. Check 'em out (some even include their menus online)! July 19-23 and 26-30!
