Sisterhood Challenge : RECYCLE-REUSE-RENEW!

The challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters this week was a tough one for me. I'm NO GOOD at recycling or repurposing when it comes to crafty stuff. I mean, yes, I recycle my newspapers, etc, but I just don't do recycling projects quite like Dar or Lisa, who both blew this challenge away! Alas, here's what I've come up with....a gift for my Grandma. She's been going through a tough time and I wanted to give her a little something that would remind her how much I love her.

She'll be visiting this weekend, so my plan is to fill the tin with butterflies that have little notes to her on them (telling her why I'm grateful to have her in my life) before Saturday afternoon! We fly out for Vegas on Sunday, so if I don't get it done before then, I know I'll never get around to finishing it.

I better get it done before Saturday morning, actually...I have my last long run before my half marathon on Saturday am and then I'll be napping/resting before I spend the afternoon visiting.

Have a wonderful day and don't forget to check out The Sisters fabulous creations!

  1. Oh Tanny this is ADORABLE and what a great idea to fill it with loving messages ... she's going to cry!!
Thanks for your kind words on my creations ... I've found I really like doing this sort of thing ... I find it quite rewarding to REUSE something vs throwing it in the trash or recycle bin.
Good Luck in the race and have a wonderful visit! HUGS!

  2. This is fabulous, Tanny! Love butterflies so you know it's right up my alley and to add a note of thanks to each one is a truly special idea - you are a good friend and I'm sure she will treasure receiving it :) Good luck on the run!! I'll be cheering from BC :)

  3. this is just adorable and heartfelt! Love the butterfly idea!! Vegas!! Have a blast! And good luck on your run!! Hope the injury has healed enough :)

  4. The tin is just charming! Love the color and the butterflies outside to coordinate with what you put inside :) She will love it! Hope the marathon went well and your trip away too. I'm so behind with everything, I hope to catch up with you more real soon :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment =) Be sure to include your blog info so I can check out what you arere up to, as well!
