Digital-Ink Co's Second Blog Challenge

This week's challenge is a sketch - and we used Reece's Designs! I was pretty excited to use some of these great images. I ended up using the to create this Halloween card for my nieces & nephew. They love getting mail and I thought I'd toss this in the mail along with some halloween goodies.

As you can tell from how I wrote, adding "Uncle" was an afterthought because they're MY favorite boy and ghouls!

The Haunted House, Tombstone and Bat are all images by Reece's Designs? The bat and tombstone are from the It's Halloween Stamp Pack, which includes a large number of spooktacular images.

The Spruce Meadows Masters is wrapping up today and I've had such a blast with my Aunt & Grandma. What a fun event - can't wait to come again next year!

Mojo 103 challenge was just that....a challenge

This card will end up being a birthday card for my uncle who turns 50 in a few weeks. The sentiment is a little more whimsical than I would've chosen if I had it to do again. Oh well - live & learn. II wasn't totally happy with the sketch (since I really struggle to get measurements even close to examples), so I gave it another try...

And came up with this one...

It's going to be the wedding card we give to our friends who get married at the end of the month. They're such a fun couple and the rust color is close to their wedding color, so it worked well. You can't realy see but the white background is embossed with the Script cuttlebug folder. I think it's very pretty in real life, but I'm more than a little biased!

I know she reads my blog on a fairly regular basis, and this card isn't a surprise, as she received it early since I'm off to Spruce Meadows for the Masters today, but I did want to remind you to head over to Bloggabella, the blog for Stamping Bella, and check out the other creations with this week's sketch. You'll find that I didn't quite do exactly as was shown (flipped my oval), but the bellas just work better with the other direction.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #34

I had already stamped the sentiment I wanted to use inside before I looked back at the sketch and realized it should've been on the front...but I'd look like a bit of a tool if I put it on both, so there's no sentiment on the front. =)

Last night we took Shauna out to our local fave, Red Ox Inn, for her birthday supper. Again....yummeroo! If you're in the area, give it a try because it's a delicious event every time - and it's an independent restaurant, so I always figure no matter what I try, I'm sure they do it will or they wouldn't be around.

This is for Hallie at Wonderful World of Weiners, who's been bugging me for a weiner card....now if only I had her address to ship it to her, I could make her a collection =)

In honour of the laughs I get every time I head to her blog, I found this stamp at Kritters in the Mailbox and had it shipped to me. I'd say it's a winner of a stamp.

Speaking of winners, on Sunday, we enjoyed the racetrack for my brother in law's birthday and guess who picked a winner in the first race we arrived in time for? Yep - that'd be me. At just over 10-1 odds, Classy Too came through for my like the champion she is and I won $20.50 on my $2 bet! Love when that happens. MrP had two winners and I had two winners of the six races we watched, so we came out on top with our little bets.

This card was a three challenge submission! I used the color challenge from Charmaine, the Paper Tole challenge from Dawn and the sketch challenge from Laura.

A close up of the paper tole. This was the first time I'd ever tried it and I popped up the hippo's head once and the balloon twice. Gotta love dimension!!

This card was a sketch challenge by....you guessed it, Ms. Sweet Sunday Sketch herself, Karen! I love playing along with her on Sundays, so I couldn't NOT do this one! I also tried to use the colors for Jodi's challenge but since I don't have the new In Colors, I had to work with what I had, so I used More Mustard, Purely Pomegranate & Blue Bayou.
