Bellarific Friday Again!!

Over at the Stamping Bella blog, Karen Motzabella challenged everyone with this sketch. I wanted to make a card in honor of a friend that I need to catch up with soon for some drinks from our not so local coffee shop...or at a local pub...I'm not picky! =)

Stamps: Javabellas

Paper: White, River Rock, Brocade Blue, Tangerine Tango, Watercolor
Ink: Staz-On
Accessories: Nestabilities, Silver Half Pearls, Watercolor Brush & Markers

Over at Scrap N Stamp, it's another Friday challenge sketch - check it out! Their Glitter Party is still going on, too, so be sure to go to their Studio K blog to see all the bling!

This was my card for this week's sketch =) Thanks for dropping by - hope you have a fabulous Friday! It's my Friday off, so here's hoping I can make the most of it and still relax. Oh yeah - and Chelsey - have a blast in Vegas, buddy!

Happy Bellarific Friday!!

Yep! It's that time of the week again - my favorite day!! I think I'll celebrate with some wine. Check out what the talented ladies have done with the sketch here.

Actually, tonight we're going out with friends to celebrate their last weekend of their 'singleness' before their wedding next weekend. I'm sure it'll be fun. Last night, I was a productive-roo for running errands, so I put this card together when I got home. Not sure I love it, but it's got Winobella...and I gotta love her =)

Check out Scrap N Stamp for their third sketch challenge of the month!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday, Shauna - on Bellarific Friday

Stamps: Barbella
Paper: White, Pixie Pink, Basic Gray, Going Gray
Ink: Pixie Pink, Memento Black, Going Gray, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Nestabilities, Window Word Punch, Happy Birthday CB Embossing Folder, White Mini Brads

I know she reads my blog on a fairly regular basis, and this card isn't a surprise, as she received it early since I'm off to Spruce Meadows for the Masters today, but I did want to remind you to head over to Bloggabella, the blog for Stamping Bella, and check out the other creations with this week's sketch. You'll find that I didn't quite do exactly as was shown (flipped my oval), but the bellas just work better with the other direction.
For another sketch challenge, check out Scrap N Stamp this week, which features another great bunch of creations, including one by yours truly with love =)

Scrap 'N Stamp Sketch Challenge

Did you see my creation over at Scrap 'N Stamp on Friday? Yep - I'm a sketch challenge designer for their Friday sketches. If you head over to their blog and give the sketch a try for a chance to win this month's fabulous prize - a Just Rite stamper set with a value of $18.49.
The bonus for us Canadians - Scrap 'N Stamp is Canadian, too.

This card used Bazzil Cardstock, BG Wisteria collection paper & elements, Peggy’s Pretties, BG Wisteria Brad, all of which can be purchased through their site.

I also created this card for friends of ours who've just bought their first place, which is always exciting!
Stamps: surprisabella with hat
Paper: White, Blue Bayou, Purely Pomegranate, Groovy Guava, Summer Picnic DSP
Ink: Versamark Black, Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: Nestabilities, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Star Punch, Silver Brad

The sketch is last week's Sketch for You to Try from Jen and I'm so happy I gave this a try, despite my initial hesitation at the scary challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing what she comes up with this today!

Today's Bella (brought to you by the Sketch that wasn't!)

Stamps: Cuppacakeabella
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Sahara Sand, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White
Ink: White Craft, Memento Black
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol, Pink Shimmerz, Cuttlebug Spots & Dots Folder, Word Window Punch

I really wanted to participate in the sketch challenge over at Stamping Bella this week, but once I got excited about using my new Cuppacakeabella, having stamped & colored her, I realized I was doing the sketch upside down. By the time all was said & done, I decided it was just too different from the sketch to enter it =)

But she's still pretty sweet, so I've decided you can let me know what you think....too far off the sketch or would she have still qualified?!

This card was a first attempt in my new light box...what do you think? Needs more lights, but I think it's heading in the right direction.

At any rate, have a Bellarific Friday! Don't forget to stop by that new digi company, Digital-Ink Co. for a digital freebie and 35% off this week. Because who doesn't love freebies!?!

Yay for Friday!!

Today's sketch was from Little Paper Shop, which is where the sentiment came from =) You can check out their site & get 15% off until Aug 31 with the code "NEWLOOK". Not that I'm enabling! I thought the image, one I received from Susie in my swap with her, was from The Greeting Farm, but I can't find her on their website.

Stamps: The Greeting Farm, Little Paper Shop
Paper: Blush Blossom, Purely Pomegranate, Elegant Eggplant, White
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: BG Wisteria Buttons, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Techniques: Gamsol Magic

And I bet you thought I forgot....it's Bellarific Friday!

Truthfully, I never could forget, but I did delay since I had hoped my newest order would be here...but the Leduc post office kicked my butt again, so I pulled out Bubblebella again, along with some very old DSP which I haven't used much, but I loved the combo today!

Stamps: Bubblebella, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Purely Pomegranate, Berry Bliss DSP
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate
Accessories: Brides Flowers, Silver Brad, Nestabilities, Sponge

I created this Bubblebella card with a certain runner friend in mind who has injured her knee quite badly, calling into question her upcoming marathon. I'm hoping you heal up quickly, my friend!

Thanks for visiting! I've been given a Kreativ Blogger Award and I want to get to that tomorrow =) Yay!

TGIF!

It's Friday - and you know what that means....Bellarific Friday over at Stamping Bella!

This week's sketch had me wanting to create (which sketch doesn't inspire me to do something), so here's what I came up with. After the week I've had, I feel like I should be a Cosmobella!

Stamps: Cosmobella
Paper: Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa DSP
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Twill Ribbon, Brushed Bronze Brads, Prismacolor Pencils, Gamsol
Techniques: Gamsol Magic

I just love playing along every week - and I even placed another order on Wednesday with my $20 voucher from a few weeks back. Yay for new stuff on the way.

Speaking of new stuff, I've been putting off playing along with the Verve AnniVERVEsary sketches, hoping my new supplies would arrive, but no luck so far. I guess I'll be making due with what I've got this morning. Yep - a Friday off - I'm hoping to use it to stamp & rest since I have a 10K run on Saturday that'll be trying, I'm sure. I'm also meeting up with my friend Peggy at Paperworks Co for some stuff that I've been dreaming of for a little while now and had to wait for stock to arrive. Patience is not my best quality when it comes to crafting! Can you relate?!

Check out the Verve Release party tonight HERE!

S'More Sketches (cause we all know I'm a sucker for sketches)

Yesterday was Bellarific Friday, but I didn’t want to display my card on my blog, knowing it won’t make it to it’s destination for a few weeks….but I’m over it, so here goes =)

This was the Bellarific Friday 07-31-09 Sketch:

And my card:

Stamps: Javabellas
Paper: Sahara Sand, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy
Ink: Basic Black, Memento Black
Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Nestabilities, Dimensionals,Very Vanilla Ribbon, Sakura Gel Pen, Dazzling Diamonds
Techniques: Gamsol Magic

I also did some stamping yesterday and I had a great mojo going (or at least I thought…but of course, I’m a little biased!) Before I share those, though, here’s the other card I completed on Thursday – a thank you using the Weekend Sketch Challenge #90, hosted last week by Laurie at Just Give Me Stamps.

Stamps: Prayers & Thoughts
Paper: River Rock, Ginger Blossom DSP, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral
Ink: River Rock, Ruby Red
Accessories: Nestabilities, Dimensionals

Can’t wait to try Beate’s sketch this weekend for WSC91!
I’m quite excited for this long weekend, as I’m spending it in a cross country horse jumping clinic. This is the first time I’ve ever been invited to attend a cross country session, as they’re almost always on private acreages, but my riding instructor is hosting a bunch of people over this weekend for a three day eventing type session. I’m PUMPED! I’m also going to be riding her Thoroughbred gelding, Trapper, that I’d been riding a lot in lessons before he went home for her summer to star in her camps. Hopefully he goes easy on my shoulder, which I just had injected on Wednesday afternoon in hopes of easing my inflamed bursa. Oh to be the oldest 28 year old MrP knows =)

Anyways, I’m off to enjoy a day with horses….

Gonna be a Bellarific Day!

Tonight, I've got a fun filled evening - off for pedicure with my friend Swillsey right after work, then a bite to eat and MrP's taking me to see Bedouin Soundclash, Paramore and No Doubt! Had a bit of a panic last night when we realized that we didn't have the tickets. Luckily, I went back through his emails (it was an emergency!) and found that he'd chosen the FASTticket or whatever it's called - he just has to print them today. WHEW! Crisis averted.

I even managed to drag him with me to the Running Room's 20 Minute Challenge, but that's about the most we'll run together. His pace is a LOT faster than mine and it wasn't fun for me to be gasping & heaving in an attempt to keep up. He also doesn't enjoy running since his pace doesn't allow for a sustainable speed and he ends up hoping for lightning to strike him down about 7 minutes in! Oh well - it was good and I got two hats and a 20% off coupon for my next purchase. Sweet!

And so it was on to create a card for the Bellarific Friday Sketch (due July 17th). I was excited to ink up the little Bookwormabella, as I fell for the Bellas quite a while ago and yet had only made one card with the Javabellas. I have about six of them for Pete's sake....what was the delay? And who's Pete anyways?

So obviously this was the sketch:

And here's what I did with it:

Stamps: Bookwormabella, Absolutely Fabulous, Doodle This
Paper: Night of Navy, So Saffron, Bordering Blue, Cameo Coral
Ink: Basic Black, So Saffron, SU! Markers
Accessories: Signo White Pen, Sakura Gelly Roll Pen, Icicle Stickles, Word Window Punch, Nestabilities

Go to Blogabella back on Friday to see what everyone's come up with (and if I managed to make it onto their collection of challenge accepters). I think if I had it to do over, I would've left off the stickles on the Doodle This flower, but what's done is done... and I love this Bella - can't wait to color her again!

Running Behind in Bellarific Style

I did it! Gave my cupcakes a try. (I wasn't the only one....Chelsey & MrP also taste tested for me). I'll need to make another batch because I think they're going to be a smash hit! Very moist and refreshing. At least in my opinion, which is all that counts at this moment.

When I titled this post, I wasn't talking about my upcoming 10K on Sunday - it's already a given that I'll be running behind the pack! I was talking about this card that I created for a certain friend who has been dealing with far too much stress lately (because I love her to bits). I made the card because I love her to bits...she's not too stressed because I love her to bits. Geesh. Do I make any sense today?! I should just stop talking.
I used the Bellarific Friday Sketch and can't wait to give this week's sketch a try. Yeah - I was a little behind the ball to get this sketch done, but I also wanted to give it to the recipient before she saw it while checking out the rubbish =)

So this was the sketch:

And my interpretation:

Stamps: Bubble Bella, Sweet Little Sentiments
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Purely Pomegranate, Berry Bliss DSP
Ink: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, SU! Markers
Accessories: Nestabilities, Curvy Square Punch

Head over to the Stamping Bella Blog for this week's sketch challenge!

Speaking about being behind the eightball, I may as well show you the Weekend Sketch Challenge #88 card that I completed. Jenn Balcer hosted this week and had a great sketch, which could be used for a scrapbook page or a card. I wanted to try to use up some 'leftovers' and this is how it turned out.

The Sketch:

And my card:

Stamps: Pun Fun
Paper: Pink Passion, Lavender Lace, Old Olive
Ink: Pink Passion, Lavender Lace, Old Olive, Basic Black
Accessories: Nestabilities, Paper Primas, Very Vanilla Ribbon

I'll definitely be checking out the weekend sketch challenges more often!

I love The Pioneer Woman!

A while back, Ree had a contest that featured a "What's your fave recipe" comment section - and ended up with over 5,000 posts. It was a great resource for all things tasty (and some terrifying in the amount of pure goodness - aka butter - that were featured). If you ask MrP, he'd just tell you "Butter makes it better". And that's why we go to the gym =)

Anyways, she opened up a new foodie community! Check it out! Or check out her website to find out more details!
