Today’s challenge over at the Digital-Ink Co challenge blog is another awesome sketch! I think sketch challenges are my favorite because they’re such a wonderful starting point for so many great cards.

For my card, I used one of Angela from Sewn Together's awesome Morty images. He’s such an adorable moose and can be found in her December Value Pack, which is a wicked deal at 30% off – just $3.50!

Another Monday means another challenge at the Digital Ink Co Challenge Blog! The challenge this week? Use a quote. That's right...any quote. I loved this quote and instantly it came to mind when I saw this playful pup! I used the Weekend Sketch Challenge 105 for this layout.

Hey Gorilla...

Alright - I must admit, I loved my project last week (probably because it was edible), but I also know that the challenge this week is a recipe...and that's a real challenge that I struggle with! The ladies over at the Digital-Ink Co Challenge Blog have got some great things to show you with their creations using an image from Jules Junk.

This image has a lot of sentimental value for me...I 'commissioned' it! On SNR, Julie was looking for suggestions and the bonus of offering up an idea was that you got it. Well, in our house, one of the nicknames we use is "gorilla". Don't ask me how we started that, but it's stuck. So MrP's challenge to me was to create an anniversary card with a gorilla. Have you got any idea how hard a gorilla stamp is to find? Let me tell you from experience, it's a challenge. So I put it out there and Julie did it up like a pro!

So MrP gets his gorilla anniversary card and I get some fun coloring and a unique story! Get your own grrrilla here! The other design team members may not have the custom stamp I do, but they have really got some awesome recipe creations! Any idea what the recipe is? Well if you guessed fabric (I used felt flowers), bow, button & glitter...you'd be right.

A Cardmaker's Challenge...

You know what can be even more fun than a sketch, color combo, recipe or any other type of challenge for someone who loves making cards? "Anything But a Card"! That's right - our challenge over at the Digital-Ink Co Challenge Blog is to create anything but a card with an image from Sewn Together.

So this week, I decided to make my belly happy...and I used Jaden Licking Cupcake to make the sweetest cake. Wouldn't this be perfect for a baby shower? I wish I had one to take this to...but I didn't, so MrP and I had to go it alone =) HAHAHA!  Well, his coworkers helped.


Here's the process:

I took this image and printed it out fairly large on an 8.5x11 paper. (Note: If you want the image facing the same direction as the original image, you have to flip it in reverse before printing)

I've included step by step pictures this week on how I did my cake, but basically, piping gel is your best friend for image transferring like this. Trace over the image on wax paper with a bag o' piping gel, then gently place the paper over your cake.  After that, it's simply piping the black outline, followed by "stars" for each different icing color! If you're really lucky, you have the most wonderful husband who makes your icing and colors it perfectly for you....because I'm that lucky! Yes...that's why we're coming up on another anniversary. LOL

Mojolicious Tuesday!

Well it's Tuesday and I'm soooo not ready to go back to work after four days off, but I guess that's what happens.

Today's card features the Mojo 108 sketch and uses some sweeties from M&M Designz over at Digital Ink Co, called Santa Baby Carolers. I think they're just too cute. I even made their pom poms stand out with some liquid applique and sparkles (not that you can see it all that well here, but I'm telling you I did, so there!) =)

The geniuses at Digital-Ink Co Challenge Blog have quite a challenge for you this week - a sketch. Personally, I love sketches. It's rare that I actually make a card without them, if I'm being honest. I take sketch inspiration from anywhere.

I loved these sweet Body Tots, Aunt Venie and Uncle Jesse by M&M Designz, so I had to use them both! I tried for a little bit of rustic with the rope, but not too rustic because that just wouldn't be my style, which tends to stick with simple =) I'm planning on sending this card to my grandparents, who remind me a little of these images. Aside from the facial hair on Uncle Jesse.

Fall Themed D-I Co Challenge

This week, it's a theme challenge - FALL! It happens to be my favorite season, aside from the fact that we don't truly get an autumn here in Edmonton. Mostly winter with a little spring thrown in for good measure June through August. I really love summer, but it is over so quickly...oh well. 'nuff complaining!

For this card, I used Amy's Saturday Sketch Challenge from Sept 19. We were all given access to some great images from Stamping Dragon Designs. I colored up this image from the Autumn Leaf Stamp Pack (which also includes three theme words that are perfect for coloring) and cut out with my nesties, then used the outline of the nestie to create my border.

A Cute Hippie

This week's challenge is a color challenge

which, to me, looked like Sage Shadow, Ruby Red & Navy ... and we used a Stitchy Stamps image! I colored up this cute little Hippie and used a little bit of my new Molasses Smooch to give some bling to her belt, jean tassles and necklace. That is some cool stuff! The sketch was from SC247 for this layout.
